FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free a consultation?
Yes, I offer a complimentary 20 minute phone or in-person consultation to ascertain if we would be a good fit.
How can I request a new appointment?
Click here, call 630-550-6665, or email me.
What will occur during our first session?
During our first session we will briefly review policies and practices and take care of any logistics such as insurance issues and completion of forms (unless they are completed prior to the appointment). I will also assess what brought you to therapy, begin to understand your goals and to get to know you. That will include learning about your current life situation, family history, family and other social support, physical health issues, etc.
Will the sessions be confidential?
Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and something I firmly respect in the therapeutic space because it is your safe space to talk about what is on your mind. Our sessions will be completely confidential. However, there a few exceptions: if you put yourself or someone else in imminent physical danger, if there are child, elder and/or disabled person abuse issues as I am a mandated reporter by law, and if you sign a release for me to share information with another individual.
